Annyeong-haseyo!

Don’t you love last-minute, get-up and go kinda plans? They are the absolute best.

No thinking, no fuss, no digging into details – everyone just appears and have fun. That’s how my in-laws roll, or how I successfully roll with my in-laws when it comes to family events. The more we plan ahead, the more little/big things come up but when it’s spontaneous and let’s just play by ear – gathering up gets easy.

Last weekend, we were supposed to have a birthday breakfast for Herina at Coffee Bean but honestly, we’ve had enough of overpriced (fake-like) eggs and measly salads so the husband and I went out for a bit of midnight shopping for groceries. Woke up a lil bit early to chop vegetables and let some meat swim and soak in yummy, fruity Korean BBQ marinade and then ta-da – we surprised the family with a Korean-inspired lunch!

His mother said that I shouldn’t have had to cook up such a feast to which I exclaimed, “The best thing about Korean BBQs is that you do all the cooking!”
